At Phoogoo, we find community involvement to be one of our favorite pastimes. Whether it is helping with a local non-profit’s website, or offering our time in other ways to help community organizations – we love it.
Last week, we helped out the PAST&E at their SOLD OUT Sip, Serve and Celebrate event. PAST&E is Portland After-School Tennis & Education, Inc – a nonprofit youth development organization for k-12th grade students. Their program runs year round and offers one-on-one tutoring, tennis lessons, direct instruction and nutrition/fitness education as well. You know, bettering the futures of Portland’s youth – something that Phoogoo is very fond of.
This time, we offered our help by providing the music for the event. Phoogoo’s own President, Zach (AKA DJ Hasselhoff), spends some of his time away from Phoogoo as a DJ. They were looking for some help and Zach stepped right up and donated his time that night. You go, boy!
The event was beautiful, well organized and delicious. Sandbox Studio housed the event in their awesome event space, Papa Haydn knocked the catering out of the park and Grey Goose kept everyone hydrated all night long. Justin Gimelstob was there to cohost the event, which was also impressive. If you don’t know about Justin, he is an ex pro American Tennis Player. He won a total of 10 singles titles and 15 doubles championships and twice was a member of the U.S. Davis Cup team.
The event raised upwards of $100,000 for the organization – what a huge success!
